What resources do we need to be more successful in helping ESL students cross the communicative/academic language bridge?

What practices are we employing on campus now that assist students in their literacy development?

How are we addressing initial student preparedness in literacy issues?

What does the research say about best practices in literacy education?

What special concerns are we faced with concerning our diverse student population?

In my EL 104 class I have used www.dianahacker.com web site for more exercises/practices in ckass. This web site is free (no password is required). There are all kinds of exercises (thesis statement, grammar, ESL trouble sopts..) Students can click on the answer and get instant feedback.
I would recommend EL 104, EN101A instructors to make use of this website.
